Last year’s backyard Thanksgiving feast was such a success that we decided to do it again this year! We didn’t raise any wheat, turkeys or cranberries so those and things like coffee and spices will be brought in but for the rest of the menu we are all set.
Here is this year’s menu:
-
Turkey with fresh garden herbs
- Homemade noodles
- Homemade crackers
-
Mashed potatoes
-
Massaged kale salad with apples and onions
-
Pickled beets, this recipe is always a favorite
Desserts
-
Pumpkin pie from Grandma Fields
-
Apple crisp
Drinks
-
Plum wine aged almost two years

Massaged kale salad with fresh kale, chopped apple, cider vinegar, olive oil, onion and toasted nuts is one of my favorite dishes.

Not so many plums this year as last but still got a few.

Here’s the nicely fermented ginger bug; a combo of sugar, water and ginger. This is used to make the ginger beer.
Whatever you choose to cook this year a very happy Thanksgiving to you and your family from Urban Farm Hub.
I'd love to hear from you!
