“How about two knit hats for the deer pelt?” asked my son eyeing a large untanned hide. “Sure” replied the man behind the table with mushrooms, pelts and lovely wooden bowls. So started my family’s adventure at Backyard Barter’s March Barter Fair. By the end of the day we wound up going home with an amazing assortment of hand made crafts and foods.
If you haven’t had a chance to attend one of these fairs I would highly recommend going. The next one is going to be in the Lake City area the end of April.
What are you going to do with the pelt?
Love seeing barter posts! I could not believe the haul I carted home from our barter in Tacoma earlier this month. I haven’t tasted the hard cider yet… maybe this weekend for my husband’s birthday. 🙂
For those who are in Tacoma, there will be a barter on May 4, right after the Community Garden Summit. See http://www.facebook.com/fairtradin for more info.
Good question on the pelt!! My son is taking it back to college and I am thinking it will most likely go up on a wall. Barter fairs are wonderful!!
